Looking to buy copier paper… think outside the box.

Are you aware of the many places you can purchase paper for your laser printers and digital color copiers? Many office managers, IT Managers and purchasing agents would automatically look to one of the “big box” options because they don’t know where else to turn.

Long before these stores existed, paper merchants were providing paper to professional offices, corporations, non-profit organizations and commercial printers. In the 70s, 80s, and early 90s, if you had a copier, a mimeograph machine or a printing press, you called your local wholesale distributor and got what you needed fast!

In 2019, despite the march towards a paperless office, businesses are still using paper in great supply… approximately 15,000 sheets per office worker per year. So why not investigate an option you may not have considered before – the wholesale paper merchant: The Paper Store & more…

We have the word “store” in our name as we do offer 2 conveniently located pick up locations in Paterson, NJ and Kenilworth, NJ but we offer wholesale pricing and next-day delivery by truck in the tri-state region or UPS anywhere in the USA. Along with competitive pricing, we provide a level of expertise that cannot be found inside “the box” store world. Our stores opened in 1987 and between our 4 employees, we have over 100 years of paper experience.

Break out of your comfort zone and try something new…just like the large, 50+ year old plumbing/heating supply distributor did last week. With one quick call, we opened up a new business relationship and 85 cartons of white/pastel colored copier papers were shipped next day.

We happily handle orders from 1 package of paper to one truck load so why not “kick the box store” to the curb and give us a call at 800-550-6202 or visit us at www.thepaperstoreandmore.com.

Greetings from the Kenilworth store!

I’ve been asked to contribute something to our website. So…  I’ve been thinking long and hard about this. As the manager of The Paper Store & more in Kenilworth for close to 16 years now, I have seen printing trends, companies and the industry itself change drastically. Obviously, the proliferation of electronic devices has contributed greatly to the decline in actual printed material. But, I believe there is no substitute for a book, a postcard, a thank you note, handwritten letter or any of the other thousands of uses paper offers us. At the risk of sounding nostalgic, I can tell you that the joy I get from reading an actual book or handwritten letter from someone has never diminished over the years. Undeniably, there is something special about it. One of my happiest memories as a child is my grandfather reading the classics to me. It instilled in me a love of reading that continues to this day.

Would it have been the same had we been staring at a computer screen? There’s no way to answer that question. However, I do know this. There is no replacement for a printed document or handwritten letter, there is no substitute for the feel the smell and the physical impact of the printed word printed image and if in the future these things go away the world will be greatly diminished for it. Paper and printing supplies are becoming more user-friendly, more environmentally friendly, and while the cost of everything seems to go up constantly, I believe paper is still a great and lasting value…something you can feel to see and, yes, even smell, and no computer screen, no electronic device can ever replace that.

It’s eight am on a week day
The regular crowd shuffles in
There’s an old printer sitting next to me
Drinkin’ his Joe with a grin

He says, “Son, can you help me with a memory
These digital machines charge by the click
It was so easy and I knew it complete
When I ran jobs on my trusty A B Dick”

Sell us some paper, you’re the paper man
Sell us some paper today
We’re all in the need of great quality
And you’ve got us feelin’ okay

Now Mike and Rich at the counters are friends of mine
The coffee and the cookies are free
Mike is quick with a joke and Rich will light up your smoke
But there’s no place that they’d rather be

Customers say, “Nick, I believe you have what I need.”
As their smiles never leave their face
“Well I’m sure that I will be successful
Because I can get everything in one place”

Now Paul is a real estate agent
Who is trying to design his own flyer
He’s talking to Liz, in the marketing biz
And can help him make his sales go higher

And the graphic designer is talking politics
As the business man gets his blank letterhead
Yes, they’re sharing ideas on mailings
And how to make sure it gets read

Sell us some paper, you’re the paper man
Sell us some paper today
We all appreciate the great prices
And you’ve got us feelin’ okay

It’s a pretty good crowd for a week day
And Genie gives me a smile
‘Cause she knows that it’s me they’ve been comin’ to see
To get out of their office for a while

And the chatter, it sounds like a carnival
And the service is beyond compare
And as all the orders are filled quickly
They say, “Man, what would we do if you weren’t here?”

Sell us some paper, you’re the paper man
Sell us some paper today
Your vast selection is unbeatable
And you’ve got us feelin’ okay

Your “golden ticket” to the world

“You are educated. Your certification is in your degree. You may think of it as the ticket to the good life. Let me ask you to think of an alternative. Think of it as your ticket to change the world. ” – Tom Brokaw

“Your ticket to change the world”… Certainly sounds like a very important piece of paper – kind of like the “golden ticket” from Willy Wonka. Imagine if those golden tickets were printed on copy paper, do you think they would have been as desirable; worth fighting for? Now, imagine if your diploma was printed on a piece of white copy paper that you can buy at the local store. Do you think it would seem as valuable? Would you want to frame it and display it proudly in your home or office? I don’t think so.

A diploma from any school be it high school, technical school, college, or graduate school represents achievement. It represents dedication, discipline and commitment. And that is why one should take great care in selecting the paper on which is diploma is printed. Often, diplomas are printed on paper that looks like parchment. This paper has an aged feel reminiscent of scrolls which were some of the first papers ever used to make special pronouncements to the kingdom.

We stock Astroparche paper by Neenah which comes in 8 different colors and each one has that old world feel. It is manufactured in a light paper weight (24/60#) or cover weight (65#) depending on your preference. If you will be presenting the certificate in a frame, paper weight is ample. But, if you are handing out the certificate separately, the cover weight would work best.

Another option some schools choose for diplomas is a heavier weight, high quality cover stock in a natural or ivory color. For many, a heavy stock that is soft to the touch in an off-white color which is then printed with black calligraphy connotes understated elegance and prestige. We have multiple offerings to satisfy this need from Mohawk’ Via Vellum, Via Satin, Strathmore Writing Bristol and more.

In addition to certificates and diplomas, graduation time is filled with pomp and ceremony. And, at every ceremony, there is a program highlighting the school, the students and the awards to be distributed. At The Paper Store & more, we have hundreds of choices to make your program perfect! Perhaps you want to print on paper that complements your school colors, or you need an oversize program to fit all the awards being handed out. We can cut to any size enabling you to get all the information in and keep it to one page!

Contact us and let us help you navigate the paper options while you design and get ready to distribute the certificates, awards and diplomas that your students have earned. Let them look back on their experience at your school with great pride as they set forth for their lifetime trip around the world!

“Spring forward” into fashion colors at The Paper Store & more…

Spring is just a few days away and that means new fashion color choices. The trend this year is towards cooler and softer colors. According to the Pantone website, “an eclectic, ethereal mix of understated brights, pale pastels and nature-like neutrals take center stage as designers draw from daydreams of simpler times. Remembrances of retro delights, folkloric and floral art, and the magical worlds of tropical landscapes restore a sense of well-being as we head into warmer months.”

Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman explains “Many feel compelled to be connected around the clock because we are afraid we’ll miss something important. There is a growing movement to step out and create ‘quiet zones’ to disconnect from technology and unwind, giving ourselves time to stop and be still. Color choices follow the same minimalistic, ‘en plein air’ theme, taking a cue from nature rather than being reinvented or mechanically manipulated. Soft, cool hues blend with subtle warm tones to create a soothing escape from the everyday hustle and bustle.”

With that in mind, your correspondences can help reflect the current trends. If you’re looking for pastels, Domtar Earthchoice Multi-purpose and Opaque has 15 shades including a close match for Glacier Gray. As for understated brights, Neenah’s Astrobrights line has 25 color options including Celestial Blue for a comparable Classic Blue match. And, other lines including Royal Sundance Fiber have trendy color choices that create mood and enhance the content of your project.

Whatever color you’re looking for albeit trendy and modern or classic and traditional, you can find hundreds of colors, textures and finishes in our NJ stores daily ready to be picked up or shipped to you, wherever you may be celebrating Spring!

Fewer paper choices, fewer paper options, NOT true………

If you listen to the news reports and look around, you might think that the paper world is shrinking. In fact, paper options are abundant and accessible to anyone anywhere in the world through our site, The Paper Store & more…

If you want paper for your laser printer, ink-jet printer and/or digital color copier, we’ve got it! Maybe you’re looking for Engineering Rolls, Brown Kraft Rolls or paper that looks like a brown kraft shopping bag…we’ve got that too!

dog welcome home

We are The Paper Store & more… We have been serving the NJ area printing market since 1987. So, if you’re in California, Kentucky, Virginia or even Maine, let us be your “local” paper store. Don’t let something like distance stop you! We have 3 stores in NJ where we continue to reach out to small printers and anyone who buys paper. You know what we do… just like your old vendor, we sell thousands of papers (Mohawk, Nekoosa, Strathmore, Classic, Finch), in hundreds of colors, many weights and textures, and multiple sizes. And, if we don’t have your size, we can cut paper to your specs. Feel free to come in daily Monday-Friday (8:00am-5:00pm) for pick-up orders.

For those local customers who want a next-day delivery on our route, we ask for a small order minimum of $150 and a $5.00 fee per delivery. Now, I know you might not be able to fly in for the day so we can provide UPS delivery with your choice of delivery options (i.e. Next Day Air…). However, if you were able to come to one of our stores, you would meet one of our 5 employees whose combined years of paper/printing experience are over 100+! And, if you were able to come in, you would be able to have a cup of coffee and a cookie. Pretzel rods available EVERY DAY! You would probably talk about last night’s game or, at this point, venture a guess on the birthdate of William and Kate’s baby. You could also run into an old friend or get advice from another printer who just bought the same digital color copier you did. So see, even if your old store has closed, there is a new option for you to get what you need and no more and no less! So walk through the “on-line” store version of The Paper Store and feel free to call Nick if you prefer to chat. Let us try to fill the XPEDX void and help you to experience the relief and satisfaction that other ex-XPEDX customers around the country have already discovered at The Paper Store & more…!
